{"id":2387,"date":"2010-10-26T00:11:59","date_gmt":"2010-10-26T06:11:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=2387"},"modified":"2010-09-30T14:16:22","modified_gmt":"2010-09-30T20:16:22","slug":"agonizing-questions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=2387","title":{"rendered":"Agonizing Questions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>\u201cAnd she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God?\u00a0 art thou come unto me to call my sin\u00a0 to remembrance, and to slay my son?\u201d\u00a0 (1 Kings 17:18).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The widow&#8217;s son was dead.\u00a0 In her grief she lashed out at Elijah.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t because it was his fault.\u00a0 He was just there.\u00a0 In the heat of the moment, she felt such heartache and\u00a0 pain.\u00a0 She questioned why Elijah had even come her way.\u00a0 It had to hurt the prophet to see her in such agony.\u00a0 He was only guilty of trusting God and following His direction.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t see this tragedy coming.<\/p>\n<p>Bad things do happen to good people. Often times they will lash out at family or friends because they don\u2019t understand why this is happening to them. When the trial is past, they are most likely to still love and forgive.\u00a0 When the going gets tough, the best thing to do is turn to God.\u00a0 That&#8217;s exactly what Elijah does, as we learn in tomorrow\u2019s devotion.
