“O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. \u00a0My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water”\u00a0 (Psalm 63:1 NLT).<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/em>If you ask me, there’s no more beautiful place than southern Illinois.\u00a0 Within a short drive, I can observe all the wonders this area of the world holds\u2014amazing rock formations, gorgeous lakes, woodlands, prairies, old churches, quaint towns and super people. \u00a0I’ve been a few places, but home is where I always love to return.<\/p>\n

As lovely as it is, it’s still a tough, cold, wearying place to live. \u00a0This orb called Earth is not a comfortable fit for any of us.\u00a0 It’s a place where encouragement is a well-sought-after commodity, peace is elusive, fear is rampant and normal is no longer that. With success determined by current events, the fullness of our wallet and the size of our body, enough is never enough. In the land of plenty we still hunger and thirst for what we don’t have\u2014but yearn for.<\/p>\n

If you’re like me,\u00a0 you’re looking for a getaway from it all, a place to relax, a quiet spot to recuperate from the culture’s attacks. Well, I’ve found it\u2014right here in this wonderful verse.<\/p>\n

“O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. \u00a0My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water”\u00a0 (Psalm 63:1 NLT).<\/em><\/p>\n

The world’s not going to offer you anything lasting, fulfilling or of worth. \u00a0God will.
\nThe society at large is not interested in your well-being. \u00a0God is.
\nThe human race cannot offer a sacrifice for your sins, a refuge for your soul or an eternal hope. \u00a0God has.<\/p>\n

No matter what it is you’re looking for, waiting on or hoping to see happen\u2014if you’re not looking to God, you’re wasting your time. \u00a0Seek Him. \u00a0Look for Him. \u00a0Trust in Him. \u00a0Cling to Him.<\/p>\n
