{"id":3868,"date":"2012-03-26T00:56:11","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T06:56:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=3868"},"modified":"2012-03-14T08:06:56","modified_gmt":"2012-03-14T14:06:56","slug":"success-begins-with-repentance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=3868","title":{"rendered":"Success Begins With Repentance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>\u201cWash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin\u201d (Psalm 51:2).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The last week of our study is titled, \u201cMeasuring Success.\u201d\u00a0 Our writer states \u201cTo measure success, we should look at three areas: repentant hearts, recruitment, and souls.\u201d\u00a0 Churches will fail if these areas are not addressed.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of repentant hearts, it has to begin in ours.\u00a0 We find in Psalm 51 the repentant prayer of David. We can sense how contrite he was about his sins. If you are in need of repentance yourself, it would be quite a stretch to think you\u2019re going to be a success in leading others to repent of their sins. They need to see the difference Christ makes in you.\u00a0 How our churches need people who will lead by example.\u00a0 Is your relationship with the Lord helping or hindering the growth of your church?\u00a0 As I\u2019ve poured over commentaries and this <em>Treasure<\/em> study, I keep coming back to the old saying, \u201cWhat would my church be, if every member were just like me?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sue Winchester<br \/>\nMissouri<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAY TOGETHER:<\/strong> Pray for repentant hearts among those in your congregation who are struggling with sin.
