And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus\u2019 feet, and heard his word\u201d ( Luke 10:38-39).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The familiar account of Martha and her sister Mary exemplifies the fitness goal we are trying to reach this week. Their story remains relevant today.\u00a0 We see a picture of two completely different sisters showing hospitality to Jesus.\u00a0 Each had their own idea of how to carry this out.\u00a0 Each used her gifts and abilities to welcome the Lord in her home.<\/p>\n<p>As in this household, so in ours\u2014each family member is unique. However, in spite of our personality bents and differences, we can still show Christian hospitality.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it\u2019s nice to present a well-kept home with well-behaved children.\u00a0 It\u2019s also nice to have things organized in the kitchen and a meal ready to put on the table. However, we must remember that Mary chose the better part.\u00a0 If you invited Jesus into your home today, would you be identified as a Martha or Mary?<\/p>\n<p>Sue Winchester<br \/>\nMissouri<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRAY TOGETHER: <\/strong>Ask God to give you a Mary heart in a Martha world as you face the expectations and challenges before you today.
