{"id":4136,"date":"2012-06-25T00:18:24","date_gmt":"2012-06-25T06:18:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=4136"},"modified":"2012-06-08T18:30:01","modified_gmt":"2012-06-09T00:30:01","slug":"the-greatest-example-of-forgiveness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=4136","title":{"rendered":"The Greatest Example of Forgiveness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>\u201cThen said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do\u2026\u201d (Luke 23:34a).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Some of us are familiar with the last words of Jesus from the cross.\u00a0 All of them revolved around the needs of others.\u00a0 The fact He was hanging there in our place, dying to take away our sins, filled our greatest need.\u00a0 Picture for a moment the scene at the cross.\u00a0 Imagine the shame and suffering the sinless Lamb of God endured to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Yet He prayed today\u2019s verse.\u00a0 If there ever was a portrait of true forgiveness, it was found at the cross.<\/p>\n<p>Our sins, like the veil in the Temple, had separated us from a holy God. We needed a way to reconcile.\u00a0 Christ death on the cross provided that for us.\u00a0 When we repent, He stands ready to forgive.\u00a0 That <em>veil<\/em> is rent in two.\u00a0\u00a0 The broken relationship is mended.<\/p>\n<p>How many times have people said or done things to hurt us?
