{"id":4144,"date":"2012-06-29T00:07:49","date_gmt":"2012-06-29T06:07:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=4144"},"modified":"2012-06-08T19:38:18","modified_gmt":"2012-06-09T01:38:18","slug":"forbear-and-forgive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=4144","title":{"rendered":"Forbear and Forgive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>&#8220;Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye\u201d (Colossians 3:13).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s verse is a companion verse to Matthew 6:14, our devotional verse a couple days ago.\u00a0 Why do you think\u00a0 Scripture uses the word \u201cforbearing\u201d with forgiving?\u00a0 Isn\u2019t this what Christ does with us?\u00a0 So many times we\u2019ve had to come to him and cry out for forgiveness because of inner conflicts.<\/p>\n<p>He never pushes us away.\u00a0 He is truly \u201clongsuffering.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 He has an unlimited supply of patience.\u00a0 We, on the other hand, aren\u2019t that gifted.\u00a0 Sometimes, in the midst of conflicts we develop spiritual amnesia\u2014we forget what God has done for us.<\/p>\n<p>In light of all the times He has shown His mercy, shouldn\u2019t we be willing to show mercy as well?\u00a0 If we get in a quarrel, \u201cnip it in the bud\u201d before sundown.
