He wanted the money Balak offered him.\u00a0 Similarly these false teachers apparently were guilty of attempting to extract money from na\u00efve listeners.\u00a0 For a donkey to rebuke the prophet&#8217;s madness reflects not only on the foolishness of Balaam but also on that of\u00a0 the false teachers of Peter&#8217;s day.\u201d\u00a0 We may not understand why God used a donkey to rebuke a greedy Balaam, but when God is in control, He will use whatever means to carry out His Will.\u00a0 Remember how Nebuchadnezzar ate grass like oxen.\u00a0 Proverbs 16:18a states \u201cPride goeth before destruction&#8230;\u201d\u00a0 The account of the talking donkey should keep us humble.\u00a0 Everything mentioned in the entire Bible is there for a reason.
