{"id":542,"date":"2008-08-25T00:57:33","date_gmt":"2008-08-25T06:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wnac.org\/blog\/?p=542"},"modified":"2008-08-19T15:06:43","modified_gmt":"2008-08-19T21:06:43","slug":"dying-to-self","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wnac.org\/twg\/?p=542","title":{"rendered":"Dying to Self"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/em>(Galatians 2:20).<\/p>\n<p>Judging from today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bible verse, Paul understood the concept of dying to himself. He knew unless he was able to get self out of the way he wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t going to be able to glorify God. It meant he would have to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153crucify\u00e2\u20ac\u009d his fleshly desire and allow God room to dwell within Him. His new life in Christ was going to be lived by faith in the One, he said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153loved me, and gave himself for me.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>We must follow Paul\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s example in dying to self, willing to rid ourselves of the things of the flesh. Many times our fleshly desires and attitudes hinder us from doing His Will. Transferring all we are and have over to our Savior can make a difference in how we look at life and the world. We will take the first of many steps in developing a missions lifestyle.
