Read Ephesians 5:14, which was probably taken from a hymn with which the Ephesians were familiar. Compare it to Isaiah 26:19; 15:17; 52:1; 60:1 and Malachi 4:2. Think of at least one time you were so engrossed in a problem or issue with your own life that you failed to see the needs of those around you. Sing or pray the following lines: “Open my eyes, Lord. I want to see Jesus; to reach out and touch him; to say that I love him. Open my ears, Lord, and help me to listen. Open my eyes, Lord. I want to see Jesus.”

Pray Together:  The slowing in our economy has affected many in our churches. Let’s pray as we give to God’s work first and find His blessings sufficient for our needs.
