God’s Light in the Temple

“And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold of beaten work shall the candlestick be made:” (Exodus 25:31a).

Take time to read Exodus 25:31-40.  It is the account of a beautifully crafted lampstand which was part of the Tabernacle’s furniture. In the Holy Place of the tabernacle there was no window to let in natural light. Our study writer states, “With beauty, this Tabernacle furnishing pointed to the glory of God, the evidence of His presence, and His provision of direction for His people.”

This week we will be focusing on the lampstand in the Tabernacle. This was an extraordinary work fashioned by God with directions on how to construct it and take care of it.  The continuous burning light was to be a constant reminder that God’s presence is always with His people.
