“Love not the world neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15).
We are pilgrims in this evil world, and it has nothing of eternal value to offer us. When we allow ourselves to embrace things of this world, we show the world we really don’t love God. As citizens of Heaven, we should allow no room in our heart for the pleasures of this life that last but for a season. We cannot shine in love when our walk and talk do not match.
