“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Philippians 4:8).
The NIV Study Bible notes, “Paul understood the influence of one’s thoughts on one’s life. What a person allows to occupy his mind will sooner or later determine his speech and action.”
Remove negative thinking. It will lead you away from God. Replace it with the things mentioned in today’s verse. Just think. If every member of every church would be willing to do this, there would be less divisions in churches today. Maybe you could take the lead in showing members of your church what it is like to change our way of thinking.
