Desire to be Pure

“Beloved now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure” (1 John 3:2-3).

As children of God we must accept the truth of His Word. We have the hope and confidence that one day we will “see him as he is.”  We are overwhelmed now because we don’t see the total picture clearly. What we don’t understand, we must accept by faith. We should want to follow Christ’s example by striving to be pure “even as He is pure.”
