Keep Him Close

I was thinking just now about Mary. She was away from home that Christmas night when she gave birth to the Christ child. I’m sure she missed her mother. I’m sure she missed the comfort and familiarity of home. But she knew that she had been directly asked by the Lord to fulfill His plan for her life, and for His Son. And she knew that he would see her though! There’s no doubt that’s what kept her going when she felt weak and tired from her journey, or when she felt anxious and unfit for the assignment. But that night, I feel certain that deep inside her, she felt a peace that can only come from holding tightly to the hand of Jesus, and keeping him close to your heart.

Wherever you are this Christmas, and whatever this holiday brings, remember to hold tightly to the hand of Jesus, and carry Him close to your heart!
