“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:21).
The majority of people don’t have great wealth, but we do have possessions in this life we treasure. Think about the things you value most. I’ve heard the expression, “I wouldn’t take a million dollars for any of my treasures.” If these were things that would distract you from doing God’s Will, would you be willing to forsake them and follow Him? Your response will tell God what you value most in life.
God entrusts us with the things of this life. He may never ask you to forsake all but He does expect you to be a good steward or overseer of what He blesses you with. Using our wealth and possessions to bring glory to God will show Him how much we value all He has done and given to us. You will fully understand the meaning of today’s scripture.
