Blended Into One Body

“That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.  Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular”  (1 Corinthians 12:25-27).

I deal with chronic pain in my upper body.  If I only took care of what hurts, the rest of me would suffer.  It takes a blend of  treatment to make my whole body stronger.

As the Holy Spirit endows believers with spiritual gifts, they must remember these are given for a purpose. We blend our gifts so the whole Body of Christ will be strong.

In a church family, when one suffers, all should feel the pain.  When someone has reason to rejoice, they all should rejoice together. This will not happen if unity is lacking. Determine to use whatever gifts the Spirit bestows on you for the common good of the whole body.
