Pray About Motives

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:  And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting”  (Psalm 139:23-24).

Yesterday’s verse alluded to doing what we do for the Lord and not for man.  If our work is only for the praise of man, we need to examine our motives.

Sometimes we must ask ourselves this question, “What in the world am I doing?” And once we answer that we need to ask, “Why am I doing this?  Am I taking credit for all I’m accomplishing for the Lord?  Or am I giving Him the glory and praise for what I’m able to do?”

Pray today’s verses and allow God to lead “in the way everlasting.”
