“In this way, you will keep the people of Israel separate from things that will defile them…” (Leviticus 14:31 NLT).
A quick glance of this section of Leviticus reveals God’s instructions on skin diseases, rashes and dealing with mildew. Not what I was really hoping to be confronted with first thing this morning, but He felt I needed to be there, so I’ll assume He had something for me to uncover and mine out.
What I’ve dug out is the simple fact that He wants, needs, us to be extremely careful around catchy things. He does not want us infected by contagious things. He wants us healthy, wholesome and ready to do His will.
Catchy things? Sin is one; stinky attitude is another. Critical speech. Lowered standards. Lackadaisical and uncaring disregard towards others—all are contagious things. All are diseases that separate us from a communion with our Father.
