What God Requires

“He hath shown thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy Lord” (Micah 6:8).

Happy Thanksgiving!

In our passage today, Micah was referring to the Israelites who were under the old covenant, the Law.  However, we can easily apply this as we, as Gentiles, are under the new covenant, grace.  God’s requirement under each was obedience.  As we love and serve the Lord, none of the things mentioned in the latter part of our verse will be unreasonable.  All these requirements won’t be grievous to the child of God who has a humble heart.  They will be part of the indications of humility.

Walking humbly with our God, may we each enjoy a very blessed Thanksgiving Day.
