God Revives the Widow’s Son

“And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him and  he revived”  (1 Kings 17:22).

As I began to write, I thought of the verse James 5:16b, ‘…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man  availeth much.”  Maybe the widow felt she couldn’t even pray at that moment. However, it didn’t stop Elijah from lifting up his voice in prayer.  God heard his voice and revived the widow’s son.  This led to the testimony given by the widow in I Kings 17:24: “And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.”

Next week we will be sharing from the story of Ruth and Naomi. Come see what God had in mind for these two widows.
