Saved By Grace

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”(Ephesians 2:8-9).

If you really want to know what grace is, look at today’s verses. The NIV Study Bible states the following:

“A major passage for understanding God’s grace, i.e. his kindness, unmerited favor and forgiving love.  The word ‘saved’ has a wide range of meanings.  It includes salvation from God’s wrath, which we all had incurred by our sinfulness. The tense of the verb suggests a completed action with emphasis on its present effect. Through faith establishes the necessity of faith in Christ as the only means of being made right with God.  Not from ourselves denotes that no human effort can contribute to our salvation, it is the gift of God.”

All the credit for our salvation goes to God. He bestows His grace upon all who come to Him by faith.
