“And turning the cities Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conservation of the wicked. (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds “ (2 Peter 2:6-8).
Abraham pleaded with God to spare Sodom and Gomorrah. Those cities were so wicked he couldn’t even find ten righteous to keep them from being destroyed. Our nation is on a downward spiral. Sin is running rampant just as it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Will we learn from these cities? Or will a holy God have to bring judgment upon our land for its sin? The story of Sodom and Gomorrah is not a fable. It is “an example unto those that after should live ungodly.”
