Be Not Deceived

“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them” (Luke 21:8).

Throughout the rest of this week, let’s focus primarily on Christ.  Remember how Simeon and Anna longed to look into the face of Jesus? They waited a long time for this desire to become reality. Though the birth of Christ happened long ago, we now prepare our hearts in anticipation of His second coming.

How the world has changed since Christ’s birth!  We are living in perilous times, and Christ’s return is imminent.  It is so important to spend time in prayer and Bible study. If we don’t, we may easily become deceived.  One day every knee will bow, even those who dare to claim they are Christ. But there is just one Christ.  Accept no substitutes.
