Watch What You Say

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (Ephesians 4:29).

If I could put “corrupt communication” another way, I would use the word “gossip.” I’m sure we’ve all heard the expression, “if you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything at all.” Some would do well to practice that instead of repeating things that will cause hurt to others. It may seem innocent, but what we say often speaks louder than our testimony.

We won’t grieve the Spirit if we will pray for God to put a guard on our tongue. Make sure your words are always sweet because sometimes you may have to eat them.
