Evidences of the Holy Spirit (5)

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13).

Peter and John were classic examples of ordinary men doing extraordinary things for God. They had no formal schooling and held no position within religious circles. However, they had qualities that people “marvelled” at. Their evidence of the Spirit was found in the courage and boldness they displayed as they preached the Word. What a wonderful testimony—“that they had been with Jesus!” No one questioned their devotion to God—it showed! We should strive to have that kind of relationship with God. It is possible as we are “taught by the Bible and led by the Spirit.”
