“So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son” (Ruth 4:13).
I picture a beautiful wedding taking place. Not long after, the happy couple decides to start a family. They have a son. According to levirate law, their son is going to be calling Naomi, “grandma.” No one could have been more proud. The grandson’s name was Obed. He was definitely going to fill the void left when Naomi lost her husband and two sons.
If you look at the family tree of Christ you will see the name Obed. The story of Ruth is another one of God’s redeeming grace. We will close our study tomorrow with words that describe a love that is more beautiful than that of Ruth and Boaz.
