“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory” (Romans 5:1).
Faith is quite possibly the most exciting word in the Bible. From the beginning, faith has kept men, women, children, families, and entire nations alive. But it is not only our faith that has brought about such mercy and grace, but what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Our faith compels Christ to offer peace. What does this mean? It means that the same faith that kept Abraham going is the same faith that keeps us going.
“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1).
