School has begun for most students. Are you remembering to pray for them? Their witness? Their peer pressures? Their safety?

Don’t forget!

Pray Together: Please pray for newly appointed home missionaries Donnie and Susan Burke. The Burkes will be serving in the Rocky Mountain area.

Read Ephesians 1:4-5. God chose us before He made the world and loved us enough to make a way for us to be holy in His eyes through Christ. Only when He looks at us through the shimmering veil of Christ’s blood do we look worthy to Him. Write two paragraphs: one delineating how God would see you if there was no slain Lamb, and the other describing what He sees because you accepted the Way of Grace He offered.

Read Ephesians 3:8. In a dictionary, look up the word “evangelize.” List ways you can be an “evangelist” even though you aren’t schooled in seminary or called to preach? Pray for God to open doors and help you to walk through them so you can bring the gospel to those who have no hope.

Read Acts 2:41 regarding the growth of the church, then Acts 4:4 about the 5,000 and they continued to add to their numbers daily (Acts 2:47). Consider your own church. Write down how many new converts you can remember just since you started this study. How many baptisms? How many new members? Pray for your church to grow and for you to be an instrument through which others get excited about the possibility of becoming a Jesus-follower.

Read Ephesians 4:11 and consider ways your pastor as shepherd of your flock has a solid relationship with the “Chief Shepherd” just like the king’s shepherds had in Israel. Now read 1 Corinthians 12 and list people in your church who are integral parts of the body. How do you connect?

Read Ephesians 1:22-23 and 5:23-24. In a dictionary look up the words “organism” and “organization.” Which do you perceive your church to be? Pray for your church daily that Christ will be the life source filling the church with His fullness as the guardian, head, and director of the body. Write down ways you can see change from organization to organism in your church.
