Read Ephesians 3:14-21 and consider how many ways God has empowered you. List ways God has met you in a place that felt too high, low, long, or wide for resolution to occur. Prayerfully consider how you can help others realize the bottomless cup of God’s love.

Read Deuteronomy 8:5. Write about a time you discerned God was disciplining you – pruning off the dead wood – and how His discipline and pruning brought about much needed change and growth in your life. Pray for Him to bring someone into your path that needs a helping hand through the pruning process.

Read Ephesians 1:9 about God’s secret plan being revealed long ago and Ephesians 1:4 about our “choseness” in the beginning of time. Ephesians 1:11 also says we were chosen long ago before the beginning of time. From memory, write the scripture most people know by heart that solidifies that foreknowledge doesn’t mean foreordination and that “whosoever” could be saved?

Read Ephesians 1:19-20. Write how you feel knowing that you have access to the same power that raised Christ from the dead. Now read Ephesians 1:13-14 and prayerfully record how you can harness God’s power to transform you more and more toward Christ-likeness.

Christ is the Door

Read Ephesians 1:5 which points out that Christ was the portal through which we all pass to a bright eternity. Draw a door in your notebook and over the door write the word “Christ.” Now within the door frame write whatever words come to your mind that have assisted you in passing through the portal Christ provided to the life of a believer (ex: your church, your parents’ teaching, a friend). Say a prayer of thanksgiving for these “passages.”

Part of the Family

Look up the lyrics to the song “Family of God” either online or in the Rejoice Hymnal. Read Ephesians 1:3-14 and consider that this passage was more than likely based on songs of praise for God’s perfect plan, since the beginning of time, to adopt us into His family through Christ’s sacrifice. Write your own “song of belonging” in your notebook. It doesn’t have to rhyme or have a tune. It only needs to express to God your heartfelt gratitude for adopting you into His family.

Clothe Yourself

Read Colossians 3:12, 14. List the articles with which we are called to “clothe” ourselves. Which is the most vital article of “clothing”? Now list ways you have put these articles of clothing on in your life and ways you plan to don them even more faithfully in the months and years to come. Pray for God’s helping hand to make this come to fruition.
