“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22, 23

We are so blessed by God. He gives us His mercy freely and new every morning. How sweet to wake up each day to receive this wonderful gift of mercy. No matter how inferior we think we are, His compassion and love for us fail not. How could we possibly think of ourselves with such low esteem when God loves us so much to give us these sweet gifts?

“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” Ephesians 3:16

One major way to combat inferior feelings is to strengthen our inner self. He has granted to us this strength by His riches in glory. I believe with all my heart that we have the power to make the changes in our life to help us feel better about ourselves and demolish those inferior feelings that are harboring within us. The inner woman is who we are so let us ask God to strengthen our inner self by His Spirit.

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

God has made a way for us to escape low self-esteem by making all things possible through Him. If all things are possible to God then let Him heal the places in our heart that causes us to think so little of ourselves. It is possible for God to take us just as we are and make most beautiful and lovely servants of us. Today do not use the word impossible but always believe “but with God all things are possible.”

“Let my heart be sound in thy statutes, that I be not ashamed.” Psalm 119:80

Ladies, as Christians, we have nothing to be ashamed. When we become blameless in God’s Word we remove the shame from our lives and live in the light of His glory. It is a lifetime work but Prayer, Bible reading and developing Christian characteristics will help us to cultivate a confidence in our spiritual life. We must have a humble spirit with a self assurance of the life we give to God. No shame here!

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:14

All of us at one time or another feels inferior because of some physical feature. We should work on suppressing these feelings. We are God’s masterful creation and we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” with no mistakes. We must accept how we look and believe we are His marvelous work. Know this to be true, we are very special to God.

Holy Spirit Comfort

For a long time in my walk with Christ I never really knew the comfort the Holy Spirit offers. I basically ignored Him in my life. I was afraid of being charismatic, I suppose. Thankfully, He wasn’t ignoring me! He kept right on loving me and drawing me into fellowship with Him. What a wonderful thing!

You don’t know comfort until you fully accept the Holy Spirit’s role in your walk with Jesus. I am so grateful for His ever- abiding presence. No matter what circumstances I find myself in, He is there. He is leading and guiding. He is pointing the way. “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” (John 16:13) He is ever teaching and protecting. He is faithful.

I am so blessed. Every person who has the Holy Spirit dwelling within is indeed blessed. I accept His comfort as unworthy: dying without it.

Cheerful Words

“A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!” (Proverbs 15:23).

I picked up the phone and called my good friend, Barbara. Her low, dull voice indicated that she was sick. But, by the time we ended our conversation she had a definite happy lilt to her voice despite her pounding headache. My own spirit had been lifted and encouraged by seeking out my friend by phone. She lifted me. I cheered her. “Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.” (Proverbs 12:25). A simple phone call, yet so healing.

“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24) Feeling low? Speak a good word to someone today. You both will feel a little better and a lot more cheerful!
