United We Stand, Divided We Fall
Psalm 133:1 “Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.â€
“United we stand, divided we fall†has been used in speeches and songs. It is the Kentucky state motto. According to the Internet encyclopedia, this exact saying is credited to Aesop, a Greek slave and the author of fables. Christ Himself said, “…Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand†(Matthew 12:25).
When Christians unite together, God’s work will get done. If we would only love each other like He loves us. This requires resolve and commitment because loving is a lifelong responsibility. We do not ever want to see Christians fall—whether one, a group or all. Let’s think about the ways we can live in unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ as good and pleasant children of God.
