“….but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23b).
We love gifts. Whether wedding gifts or gifts for any other special occasion, we love to receive them—even though they’re probably items that won’t last forever.
Our verse indicates that one day there will be a payday at the end of life’s road. If we have given our heart to Jesus, we will avoid sin’s wages. Christ offers us the gift of eternal life. He doesn’t force us to take it, but aren’t you grateful it is available? How thankful we should be for all the gifts and benefits we have received because of His love and mercy.
