“Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away” (1 Corinthians 13:7-8).
Let’s go to the Living Bible for some insights on today’s verses. “If you love someone you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always stand your ground in defending him.”
When we truly love someone, we don’t give up on them. Are our relationships with others based on that kind of love? Sadly, we often fail to meet these standards. Think about the love God has for you. John 15:13 states, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
Everything in this life is temporal and will one day be over. Love is eternal. When gifts and powers cease, we can still believe in love, for it will remain.
