“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing” (1 Corinthians 13:2).
Wouldn’t we like to have all the gifts mentioned in today’s verse? We would certainly feel “gifted.” However, they don’t mean a thing, if we leave love out of the equation. One of Christ’s great attributes is love. As a child of God, we should desire to pattern our life after Him. If we are to serve as body builders, we need to see others through His eyes. With love in our hearts and a desire to do God’s will, we will be ready to use our gifts wisely. We are nothing without Him, and we will accomplish nothing without love.
