“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth†(Genesis 1:1).
Our devotions this week deal with the subject, “My Concept of God.†If we are going to be a witness for God, we must get a true concept of who God is. This only comes from His Word and we must go back to the beginning of time. This is when we find the source of the true Light of the world. That source will be the only one that can light our path as we labor for Him. How can our light shine if we know very little about the character of God? The first recorded accomplishment of God was to take total darkness on an earth without form and void and create Light. He spoke into existence light, not having anything but His power and the sound of His voice. The main emphasis of all Creation; God performed it, not man. In spite of any ridiculous theories, we must accept, by faith, that “In the beginning God….†God made everything and knew, from the beginning, what would follow. The One who made darkness turn to light looks to us to allow His light to shine through us to a world walking around in the darkness of sin.
