Worship and Rest

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.  Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God:  in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day, and hallowed it” (Exodus 20:8-11).

How many really understand these verses?  Our bodies were not created to work seven days a week.

God completed what He needed to do in six days. Why shouldn’t we follow His example and obey the words of today’s verses?  If we don’t use one day a week to take time to rest and worship God, we will find ourselves weak.  It’s at that point, the Enemy will attack. Prioritize, practice better time management or whatever it takes to make sure you have a day to worship and rest.  It will be good for body and soul.  And, of course, the Enemy loses again.
