Light Of The World
John 8:12
“Then spake Jesus again unto them saying, I am the light of the world; he that followed me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.â€
If you have been to one of the caves or caverns you will be familiar with one aspect of the tour. The guide gets to one point and turns the lights off. You cannot see anything at all. The guide says, “put your hand in front of your faceâ€. It is scary not see your hand not four inches from your eyes. This is the kind of spiritual darkness the unsaved world lives. Jesus is the light of the world and has passed to us the responsibility to be the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14) And just as the guide had the duty to turn the lights back on so must we be dutiful in turning the light on for those who are walking in darkness.
