“And Jesse begat David the king; and David begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias” (Matthew 1:6).
We have finished our story of the complex life of Bathsheba. She was far from perfect without Christ, but, then so are we. By the grace of a loving God, she is indirectly mentioned in the lineage of Christ along with her beloved son Solomon. This honor exceeds her being Queen Mother. You may snicker when you say her name and recall her shady past, but, you must also remember how God redeemed her.
As sinners, saved by grace, we, too, are adopted into God’s family. The adoption will be finalized when He returns for us. This is the hope we carry with us until He comes. What an honor that we are listed in the “Lamb’s Book of Life” as members of His family!
