The One Sense

Mark 4:24a “And He said unto them, take heed what ye hear…”
Luke 8:18a “Take heed therefore how ye hear…”

Hearing is one of the five senses. It is a delightful sense in that we hear music or our children telling us they love us. But it can also be a sense of concern and one that must be monitored. Have you ever grabbed your child and walked away from immoral talk or profanity? That is how we protect our children from these things entering their ears. We also need to protect ourselves as well. When I taught youth classes, I gave an illustration that what goes into the ear usually comes out of the mouth. I also related that we must be careful of anything that goes into our ears because it immediately penetrates the mind and is there forever. Let us take care of our sense of hearing so as to have pure things enter.
