Abraham’s Obedience

“And Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him;…” (Genesis 12:4a).

In today’s scripture, we do not find excuses, questions, or doubts. The man of God “departed.” He may not have known what he was doing, but he had faith in the One who, for sure, knew what He was doing.

How often do we feel led of God and delay His blessings upon us because of a lack of faith? As Christians, we all have a purpose in life. It is to glorify God. He uses various means to show us that purpose. Sadly, many may be looking for a “burning bush,” a vision, or to hear a loud voice bellowing out from Heaven for signs of their calling. Don’t wait around for something dramatic to happen. God often uses everyday happenings and whispers His Will to us. Still yourself in His presence daily so you will be ready to do as Abraham–listen and obey.
