Looking Back (Part Two)

In 1973, I found God’s will for my life.  Recuperating several weeks with a broken ankle, I wrote to help pass the time. My pastor at the time posed the question, “Have you ever considered using writing as a ministry?”  My 15-year search was about to end. My first love was writing poetry, but I branched out to other forms of writing.  WNAC had begun a Creative Writing Contest.  I submitted a program, “Recipe for Happiness” which was published in Co-Laborer magazine in 1974. In my heart, I sensed this was a validation to keep writing for Jesus.  I feel grateful WNAC has given me an outlet for my writing through the years.
In October, 2007, God opened two writing opportunities for me.  For one year, I wrote for a non-denominational website.  The other was writing devotionals for the WNAC blog which has lasted six years.  With God’s help and a great editor, I was able to rise to the challenge. Sarah Fletcher patiently worked with me. She seemed to be able to work around what I may have lacked. Thank you, Sarah.

(Editor’s note: Thank you, Sue, for your faithfulness in writing these daily devotionals.)
