God – So Loving and Caring

“And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air, and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature that was the name thereof” (Genesis 2:19).

There are many verses I could have chosen to reveal how loving and caring our Creator is. Today’s verse shows us how God allowed Adam to name the animals He had made. He knew Adam would enjoy doing this. Maybe not the greatest picture of God’s love but since Adam was going to have dominion over them, God wanted to make sure Adam would enjoy this task. God wants us to enjoy life on earth as we wait for His return. He wants us to look to the simple things of life to give us that joy. He loves and cares for us in every aspect of our being.

God – Giver of Eternal Life

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Today’s beloved verse gives us hope that God will sustain us beyond this life. This blessed hope should keep us pressing on when we feel any sense of despair. We should be grateful God looked ahead in time and saw our need of a Savior. He gave His Son to die so we could live with Him eternally. What a priceless gift of love and mercy!

God – The Life-Giver

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7).

God is not only the provider for mankind, but, He is also the sustainer. We have already learned how God took an active part in the creation of man. We are the most special of His creation. We can trust Him to take care of us and keep us going because of the power and love He demonstrated in forming us. He who took the time to make us in His image will be there to sustain us until our earthly life is over.

God – The Provider

“And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat” (Genesis 1:29).

As we continue learning more about our Creator, we see how He has always been a faithful provider. Just as He provided for Adam and Eve, He will provide what we need as well. I grew up in a big family. We may not have had everything we wanted, but our needs were met. You probably can remember some tough times when you wondered how you would survive. God brought you through them and promises to supply your every need (Philippians 4:19).

God Has All Power

“For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37).

Another attribute of God is found in the word, “omnipotent.” This means God is “all-powerful.” There is a phrase I cling to found in the words, “God can do anything, but fail.” With God all things are possible because of His almighty power. If you put your trust in God you can eliminate the word impossible from your vocabulary. Today’s verse was connected with the promise of the birth of John the Baptist. Man, in his limited thinking, said this was impossible. God made this promise a reality. Against all odds, have faith in the One who always keeps His promises. God alone is everywhere with all knowledge and power.
