He Knows Our Deeds

“And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is that thou has done?” (Genesis 3:13a).

Just as God knows where we are, He knows what we are doing. Is He pleased with our deeds? Does what we are doing with our lives bring glory to our Creator? God knew what Eve had done when He confronted her. Rest assured God knows when we do wrong as well. Go to Him and repent of it. He already knows what you’ve done and stands ready to forgive.

He Knows Where We Are

“And the Lord called unto Adam and said unto him, Where art thou?” (Genesis 3:9).

An “all-knowing” God already knew the answer to today’s question because He knew what had happened. Where are you today? Are you where God can use you? Are you serving Him as you should? Or are the things and cares of this world making God to go looking for you? You can’t run or hide from God. Go back and read the book of Jonah if you want a good example of that fact. Don’t stray too far from God. He already knows where you are.

He Knows Our Needs

“And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him” (Genesis 2:18).

Today we look at another attribute of God. He is “omniscient.” This means He is “all-knowing.” In our verse we see how God displayed this trait. God had assigned Adam his responsibilities. He sensed Adam’s loneliness and his need of help to fulfill his tasks. He knew Adam’s needs and knows ours today. The size of your need doesn’t matter. God can take care of it. He knows and understands what you are facing. He stands ready with a plan to bring you through. He knows but wants to hear from you. He is as close as the whisper of His name.

He’s Everywhere

“Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? Saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord” (Jeremiah 23:24).

This week we are going to learn more about the attributes of God, our Creator. One of these demonstrating His power is found in the word “omnipresent.” This simply means God is “all-present” or everywhere present. He can be everywhere at one time. You don’t have to go frantically searching for Him when you need Him. He is there for you whatever your circumstances. Even in your darkest hour when He seems so far from you, look around. He is there. What a comfort to have this assurance.

Worship and Bow Down

“O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker” (Psalm 95:6).

There is an amazing chorus that Maranatha Praise sang some years back. It is based on this scripture. Let us sing this song of worship in our hearts today.

Come, let us worship and bow down,
let us kneel before the Lord, our God, our Maker.
Come, let us worship and bow down,
let us kneel before the Lord, our God, our Maker.

For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture,
and the sheep of His hand,
just the sheep of His hand.

A New Heaven and Earth

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write for these words are true and faithful” (Revelation 21:4-5).

Even with my vivid imagination, I can’t begin to think how John must have felt as God shared His plans for the future heaven and earth. I think I would have been somewhere between overwhelmed and dancing for joy.

We saw in Wednesday’s devotion how Adam and Eve had lost their paradise. God never duplicated a Garden of Eden after sin entered the world. However, because of Christ’s death on the cross, we have the blessed hope of “a new heaven and a new earth.” I think it will surpass the beauty and bliss of the garden. We will see what it is like to live in a perfect world, free of all the things we face in our world today. I get excited thinking about no more sin, death, tears, sickness or pain. That feeling heightens when I think of getting to see Jesus and thank Him for making it all possible.

Our Creator is presently creating a place for us to live when we go to be with Him. (John 14:1-3) We can’t begin to imagine what all He has in store for us. We all wish we could catch a glimpse like John did, but press on, dear hearts; it will be more than we ever dreamed.

True Thanksgiving

“I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD” (Psalm 116:17).

Sometimes it is truly a sacrifice to offer thanksgiving. When it seems as if only bad is happening for us and to us it can be difficult to be thankful. But, our God is gracious toward us even when things aren’t going the way we think they should. He cares for us in the good and bad times. Be thankful for His saving grace and call upon His name with Thanksgiving.

I hope that as you enjoyed your family, friends, food and fellowship, you enjoyed a time of true thankfulness.
