Loosing Our Cool

I Peter 3:8
“Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:”

How many of us have been cut off in traffic or had someone jump in front of us in line at the grocery store? Have you ever had anyone talk hateful to you or to your children? It could be so easy to loose our cool and retaliate. As Christians we must not be tempted to damage our testimony. Our actions are important to the lost we share a world with, so it is important to show them that Jesus lives in our hearts. We are not accountable for the actions of others but will be held accountable for our own. Keeping our cool is a very hard thing to do, but the Holy Spirit within us can help overcome anger.

I Corinthians 3:9

“For we are laborers together with God…”

How is your WAC group doing? WAC needs each and every woman in your church to be involved. There are times when attendance is down and projects are set on the back burner. These are slump times and need to be adjusted as soon as possible. We have dedicated our organizations to God and they need to be in excellent condition for God to use us at our peak potential. There is so many things our WACs can accomplish for the Lord and our denomination so let’s get the women of our churches busy and working together with God.

The Devotions

Matthew 6:8
“Be ye not therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

In the time I have been writing these devotions, I have enjoyed the task tremendously. However, there have been times I have searched, thought and tapped my foot until I was completely frustrated. I have tried hard to keep my thought processes working smoothly but at times it is almost impossible. These are the times that I go to the Lord and ask for help. He has always helped me and I have complete faith that He is ever willing to give me what I need. He knows what I need even before I ask and that is a true blessing to me.
THANK YOU FATHER!

Manna

John 6:32, 33
“Then Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down form heaven, and giveth life unto the world.”

In the Old Testament, God provided manna to the Israelites as nourishment to keep them alive. In the New Testament, God provided Christ as the bread of life. The nation of Israel had a choice— eat the manna and live or not eat and die. Now we have a choice to accept Christ and live or refuse Him and die. Manna from heaven in two completely different forms from God. For physical life in the Old Testament and eternal life in the New Testament.

Rest

Mark 6:31
“And he said unto them, come ye yourselves apart unto a desert place and rest a while.”

Ladies! I wonder how many of us right now are in bad need of a good rest. A rest where the body, mind and soul are refreshed. Can we really keep going till we are so fatigued we cannot function? We cannot perform our duties, at home or in our Christian life, as efficiently as we should. Let’s come apart and rest a while to refresh ourselves to be better wives, mothers, workers and most important God’s servants. We can take a 10 minute iced tea break or an hour nap or a few days to calm down and put ourselves in a rested state.

Chiggers

I Peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

Have you ever gone on a picnic, come home and realized you have been in the chiggers? The itch is intolerable, so we scratch, which opens the flesh, and bacteria enters, causing infection.

As with chiggers, so with life. Little things get into our lives, inflict us with grief and pain, and become major things. If we could just turn these little things over to the Lord, we could avoid much of the big stuff that causes greater pain and agony. He loves us so much. He wants to take our problems—things that cause so much conflict in our Christian life. Ladies, all we have to do is take our cares, problems and troubles and toss them to Him. He will take care of us.

Price Tag

1 Corinthians 7:23
“Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.”

My favorite Christmas card says “He came to pay a price for a debt He didn’t owe.” Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He bought us with His blood and we belong to Him. This was the ultimate price paid. What does our price tags look like? Does it say; “She belongs to me or she is too busy for me?” To be honest I’m not sure at times I would want to see my price tag. Today let’s renew ourselves unto Him and give Him our lives completely so our price tag can read, “She is my worthy servant.”
